Lyrics should be visual.

Demo should have record qualities.

Money chord progressions are a must!

Work your mind for hit ideas.

Find the "how and where" to sell your songs.

Here are some basic steps to remember by John Durill:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

Keep it simple.

Look for elements in the words and chorus that give the song something that people remember even after hearing it once.

Don't make it too long

Don't be afraid to repeat parts of the song - an important verse, line or chorus.

Picture whether anyone else might be able to sing it.

Give it a solid beginning and an ending.
